The Minnesota Timberwolves got a big win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of their second-round series, but they were unable to back it up in Game 5. The Spurs controlled the game from start to finish in front of their home fans on Tuesday night and eventually ran away with a 126-97 win to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Victor Wembanyama missed most of Game 4 after being ejected for throwing an elbow in the second quarter, but he made up for lost time in Game 5. The Spurs superstar made his impact felt with 16 of San Antonio’s first 24 points, and he never let up.

After the game, Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards reacted to Wemby’s big game in the most relatable way possible, via Nadine Babu.

“Tonight, some of the stuff that Wemby was doing, you don’t really have too much of an answer for it. Just kind of hope he misses,” Edwards said. “But he came out hot, he made a bunch of shots. I felt like we adjusted, fought back in the game. Tried to dig ourselves out of the hole, but eventually they created another lead.”

Wembanyama finished with 27 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks in just 33 minutes as he spent the final few minutes on the bench in garbage time. He was the best player on the floor in San Antonio’s biggest game of the season, proving once again why he is already a superstar and one of the best players in the NBA.

On the other side, Edwards was relatively quiet after he had a huge Game 4 to even the series. The star guard finished with 20 points on just 6-of-13 shooting. Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels added 17 points each in the loss.

Now, Minnesota’s back is against the wall as it heads home for a must-win Game 6 in front of its home fans. Wembanyama is going to be as hungry as ever after getting thrown out of Game 4, so it will be very difficult for the Timberwolves to deal with him. However, if anyone can match him bucket for bucket, it’s Edwards, and that’s what he might have to do on Friday night.
