The Preakness field was drawn on Monday. The second leg of the Triple Crown will see a full starting gate of 14 horses on May 9. Pretty amazing when one considers how so many horses who ran in the Kentucky Derby decided to pass this race, which will be contested at Laurel Park in Maryland. The usual home of the Preakness, Pimlico Race Course, is being rebuilt so it moves to Laurel. There is attendance capacity of 4,800. Yes, there will be a Triple Crown race that only 4,800 can attend. Of that number, there were 1,000 tickets made available to the general public.
The Preakness draw with jockeys and morning-line odds. The morning-line favorite is Iron Honor at 9-2. This shapes up as a great betting race.
