Whilst the 25/26 season is not quite over for PSG, there is already a focus on the summer transfer window.
There have already been reports of outgoings, with forwards Goncalo Ramos and Bradley Barcola both ready to depart the club this summer, in search of more regular game time. Regarding incomings, the club have been linked with Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker, Julian Alvarez.
Meanwhile, another forward that has been mentioned is AFC Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi. Indeed, as French journalist Djaameel_ is reporting that PSG are "closely following" the situation of the teenager, mentioning that he is part of the club's transfer list this summer.
Now, this would certainly be a very interesting signing. Kroupi began his career at Lorient, and played against PSG back in the 23/24 season, playing 68 minutes as the Parisians ran out 4-1 winners as they closed in on a third straight league title.
The relegation to Ligue 1 that soon followed clearly did wonders for the youngster's development. In 30 games – 23 from the start – Kroupi scored 22 goals as Lorient won the league and immediately bounced back to the French top flight.
That summer, the 19-year old was heavily linked with a move to English side West Ham United. However, multi club ownership proved decisive, and he moved to Bournemouth instead for what was said to be a lower fee than what West Ham were willing to pay.
So, not the cleanest transfer in football history, if we are being totally honest. Nevertheless, it has shown to be a good move. In 31 Premier League games, and just 19 starts, the Frenchman has scored 12 goals this season, missing just three big chances in the meantime and accumulating 7.96 xG, so a clear overperformance and show of clinical, ruthless finishing.
He would certainly be a good signing for PSG, particularly if – as touched on earlier – Ramos departs the club. Aside from playing as a striker, he has also played as a number ten at times this season, often playing off of focal point Evanilson.
As it stands, Kroupi has four years left on his contract on the South Coast. Despite the disparity in size between the two clubs, it will not be an easy signing considering the money in the Premier League. It will be even more expensive should the Cherries secure UEFA Champions League football for the very first time next season.
