It's an exciting time for the stallion roster at Darby Dan Farm, with Grade 1 winners Blazing Sevens and Shirl's Speight welcoming their first foals in 2026, along with multiple Grade 1 winner Gufo's first U.S.-sired foals.
In Darby Dan Farm's Foal Watch, we'll look at youngsters by each of the farm's newest residents, with photos and notes about each foal to help breeders understand hone in on what makes the foals by each stallion.
Blazing Sevens is a 6-year-old son of Good Magic who won the G1 Champagne Stakes and finished second in the G1 Hopeful Stakes as a 2-year-old, and finished second by a head in the 2023 Preakness Stakes. His 3-year-old campaign also featured in-the-money efforts in the G1 Blue Grass Stakes and the listed Curlin Stakes.
Bred in Kentucky by Tracy Farmer, Blazing Sevens is out of the winning Warrior's Reward mare Trophy Girl, who is herself a half-sister to Grade 1 winner King David and stakes winner Bertsgoldenmissile.
Blazing Sevens stands for an advertised fee of $10,000.
