Rashford wants Barcelona stay after El Clásico free-kick seals La Liga, urges club to make £26m move permanent

Marcus Rashford has said he wants to stay at Barcelona after helping the club to La Liga title success.

Rashford scored a spectacular free-kick as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico to secure the Spanish title on Sunday.

The 28-year-old's goal was his 14th of the campaign for the Catalans, but uncertainty remains around his future.

Barcelona have an option to turn his loan fromManchester United into a permanent transfer for a fee of around £26m, but there has been no confirmation that the club plan to trigger that clause.

Rashford had made his feelings clear on a permanent move to Spain. He wants to extend his time at the Camp Nou and remain part of a 'fantastic' team primed to 'win a lot' in upcoming seasons. Rashford'sLa Liga success was the first league title won in his career to date.

"I don't know. I'm not a magician but if I was I would stay at Barcelona. We will see," he told theBBC.

"Football is unpredictable but for now, I will just enjoy it, live in the moment and reassess at the end of the season and see what is possible.

“This Barça team is fantastic, they will win a lot in the next years so to stay here would be special."

Rashford's brilliant goal against Real Madrid saw him join an exclusive group of Englishman to have scored in El Clásico.

He is only the sixth English player to have achieved the feat, and only the second to have scored in the fixture for Barcelona, after Gary Lineker.

He also became the first Barcelona player to score a free-kick against Real Madrid since Lionel Messi in October 2012.
