The San Antonio Spurs are trying to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 at Target Center on Sunday without Victor Wembanyama, who was tossed in the second quarter after elbowing Naz Reid in the face.
Wembanyama sent Reid to the floor and was whistled for a flagrant 2 foul after the review, leading to the automatic ejection.
Wembanyama tallied four points, four rebounds, one assist, and two turnovers in 12 minutes. It was the first time he got tossed in a game.
Dylan Harper quickly went viral for his reaction to Wembanyama’s elbow, as he looked genuinely shocked, as posted by Arizona Sports’ Kellan Olson on X.
The video has already garnered 3.3 million views.
Of course, fans had to chime in.
“It was at this moment he knew Wemby f***** up,” said @sillahmohamed61.
“Dylan Harper doing his best Jordan Poole impression,” added @NvictusManeo.
“Harper was actually responding like this before the elbow because of what they were doing to Wemby. Go watch the play over,” suggested @eroberthall.
“Harper was making that shocked face when Wemby got hit in the face, and Jaden (McDaniels) was holding his arm. But way to mess with the zoom for your narrative,” wrote @GiveMeSomeNasty.
“Harper’s reaction was funny ASL, but (Mike) Conley got it, dawg,” posted @kylerkaye.
The 22-year-old Wembanyama is normally mild-mannered, which is probably why the 20-year-old Harper could not believe what he saw.
As of writing, the Spurs and the Timberwolves are in a see-saw contest in the fourth quarter. Harper has 18 points, four rebounds, and two steals off the bench.
