The Juventus Women’s First Team produced three equalisers as they drew 3-3 with Inter on Serie A Women Matchday 21, securing a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the process.

Here are the quotes from coach Massimiliano Canzi and Barbara Bonansea after the match.

MASSIMILIANO CANZI

“I’ve said time and again that the last two matches would be crucial for us in achieving our goal: it was vital to win them, and the players did well – I’m pleased. We’ve achieved our goal of qualifying for the next Champions League, so now we can focus on the Italian Cup final. I’m delighted to note that we’ve already added two trophies to our collection and that in two weeks’ time we’ll be aiming to secure the Italian title. It’s been a difficult season, in which we struggled in the league and should have done better. We’re the team that’s played the most matches, it’s not easy to go all the way in so many competitions. I can only congratulate my players. As for Barbara Bonansea, I can only take my hat off to her, she showed her quality again today, taking on a huge responsibility from the penalty spot at a crucial moment in the match. I’m happy and very proud to be her manager.”

BARBARA BONANSEA

“Having made 241 appearances for Juventus makes me happy and proud; saying it and thinking about how far we’ve come really moves me. I’m especially happy because today we achieved our goal of qualifying for the Champions League, which, given how our league campaign has gone, had become an essential part of our season. I’m delighted to share the appearance record with Cristiana Girelli. I struck the penalty so powerfully because I’d picked a side, but the Inter goalkeeper dived straight in that direction, so in the end I managed to twist my foot slightly and put enough power behind it to find the net. I’d decided to strike it hard and it worked out well. Inter are a very strong side and they proved that again today. It was very important for us to get a point, so in the second half, after a first half full of back-and-forth action, the game settled down a bit.”
