The opening weekend of the WNBA season wraps up today with four games on the slate and plenty of star power across the league.

My top WNBA player props and WNBA picks for today target some of the biggest names in the game, including Breanna Stewart and Kelsey Plum, while I’m also backing Veronica Burton to stay hot from deep.

Breanna Stewart Over 20.5 points

Breanna Stewart saw her scoring average dip slightly last season as Sabrina Ionescu took on a bigger offensive role, but there have been zero signs of decline from the two-time WNBA MVP entering her age-31 season.

With Ionescu currently recovering from a left ankle injury, the Liberty offense is once again running heavily through Stewart. That showed immediately in New York’s opener when Stewart erupted for 31 points on 10-of-17 shooting against Connecticut.

The Washington Mystics struggled defensively against expansion Toronto in their opener, and Stewart is in position for another massive usage night while the Liberty wait for Ionescu to get fully healthy.

Kelsey Plum Over 1.5 made threes

Kelsey Plum has been one of the WNBA’s most reliable perimeter shooters for years, averaging at least 2.4 made threes per game across each of the last four seasons while shooting at least 35% from deep every year.

Nothing from the preseason suggested that production is slowing down. Plum knocked down six triples across two exhibition games and now gets a chance to open the season against her former team when the Sparks host the Aces tonight.

Plum also has a history of starting seasons fast, including a 37-point opening-night explosion in her Sparks debut last year. She doesn’t need anything close to that kind of performance to clear this number.

Veronica Burton Over 1.5 made threes

Veronica Burton began taking on more perimeter volume late last season and carried that confidence into the Valkyries’ opener, knocking down two of her four attempts from beyond the arc against Seattle.

Honestly, the surprising part was that she only attempted four threes. Golden State clearly wants Burton spacing the floor, and her shooting volume should continue climbing as the offense evolves.

Burton has now shot at least 34% from deep in each of the last two seasons, including a career-high volume campaign in 2025. Until sportsbooks fully adjust this line, the Over remains worth targeting.
