AJ Auxerre are looking to hijack FC Lorient’s approach for Will Still, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
Still, out of work since leaving Southampton earlier this season, has set his sights on a return to Ligue 1 this summer. The former RC Lens and Stade de Reims manager has been the subject of interest from Lorient. The Anglo-Belgian manager has been the favourite to take over from Olivier Pantaloni, who, despite overperforming with Les Merlus this season, has confirmed that he will leave this summer, citing a perceived lack of trust from the hierarchy.
Still had been set to make the move to the Breton club, with a deal close, as per RMC Sport, however, Auxerre, who confirmed their top-flight status on Sunday night, are now looking to hijack the deal. Tavolieri understands that a deal to bring the manager to the Stade de l’Abbé Deschamps is close. It would, of course, spell an end to Christophe Pélissier’s reign in charge.
